American election
I don't really have the greatest understanding of US politics, but is the theory this?

That if you run down and besmirch your own party's candidate enough, when the actual election begins the opposition will have nothing left to say?

Actually what puzzles me is that Clinton may run for Vice President with Obama or vice versa. How comfortable would that be?

The theory is "I will be the candidate. Me, me, me!!"

So it doesn't matter what I say about that no-hoper who thinks he/she/whatever is going to be nominated.
